Bluedette is the design portfolio of an aspiring digital designer named Adrianne Marie. This site contains some of her best work, primarily from her past class projects as well as for her personal pleasure. She hopes to have a chance to actually enter in the digital designing field, whether if it was from web designing, graphic designing, or anything that is digitally creative. For now, this is a display of her works, as well as her small side business as a freelancer.

About Me...

Adrianne Marie

My name is Adrianne Marie (Adrimarie) and this is my (digital) art-related portfolio. For many years I've always been interested in art, but for some apparent reason I do not seem to have some kind of a strong "artistic" aptitude in traditional art. I can't paint and I can't draw really well (as proven by my so-called "self-portrait" that you see here). The only type of "traditional art" that I can do (which I haven't really had the time at the moment) is calligraphy, hobbyist photography, and slowly getting in to sumi-e painting (Japanese brush painting). The only problem is that purchasing all these materials to create traditional artwork costs money (and sadly, I'm not patient enough to actually finish one piece of work). My parents, who are also art enthusiasts themselves, encouraged my younger brother and two sisters, as well as myself, to get in to something artistic and not always be "technical" all the time. It was enough they spent their money on my brother's musical instruments and my sisters' drama and music programs during childhood years that they had to "limit" their spending on me-- the "wanna-be" fine artist. Thus, pretty much, I've learned to create and appreciate the fine arts entirely on my own with no other influences from others.

My self-learning also included digital designing. I pretty much learned everything on my own, even if I did take a couple of classes back in my old college and eventually returned to university level again on a full major program and earned my BFA degree on that same medium. My wish at this point is to enter the designing field, whether as a freelance or a part-time team player at a promising design firm (although I do prefer the latter). I'm actually getting near to freelancing... almost there. After creating websites and graphic design for the past nine years as personal hobbies, I really do think I'm ready to enter the freelance/corporate world, creating sites and graphics and participating in major design projects for those in need of visual communication as a way of life.

Other than graphics and web designing, I also have other interests. I love to read, write fiction (well, fanfiction, but fiction nevertheless...), photography (digital photography that is...), watch movies (they're art too--- but I'm picky...), music in general (except country, "hardcore" rock, and heavy metal--- I really can't get in to them...), and travelling. I also am a member of my Catholic church choir every other Sunday mornings at 10am masses, singing high to mid-range alto. I also like the Hip-hop culture, '60s Pop Culture, and Asian Pop culture (mainly Japanese pop culture (which includes anime and manga and JPop) and some Filipino pop culture). I am fluent in two languages (Tagalog and English) and proficient in 2 more languages (Spanish and Japanese).

The following below are the skills that I earned and make good use, as well as gaining experience customizing & configuring. Some of them may not be related to design, but in some ways, they can be helpful...
