New (Temporary) Job

Starting next week on May 12th I will be starting a new job as a web developer/production artist at a high-profile communications and networking company. This does not mean that I will not be accepting any freelance job from any potential clients. It just means that I might take longer in finishing these projects because of this particular reason. Even if that was the case I'll make sure that I do get these projects done at the time allowed.

So, when you do decide to hire me to create your designing projects, be sure to keep this in mind and decide wisely in terms of when you want these projects completed. If you like, we can contact and negotiate these issues that would work for both of us. I'm open to suggestions.

FCA Design (New Commissioned Project)

As of early this month I have been hired by an ongoing local architectural firm to create their business website and possibly some print-related graphic designs, but until now, nothing is yet final. The firm had gone through some major changes from renaming of the business and such that the project has been postponed until everything has been cleared. As of now we only managed to have a domain name registered and a web hosting account purchased. So far I have only put up a "coming soon" page with a temporary company logo that I quickly made for it, so that once the domain name has been activated, at least it's not a broken link.

That's all for the time being. I'm going along with the same pace as the firm so all of us would be on the same pace at this point.

Upcoming New Layout

What...? Already...? After what... two weeks...?

Maybe it's because of the fact that I found some inspiration after going through sites at YoursiteNU and Perfection Gallery. After looking at it for a long time I noticed how "bland" it looks. I admit, I didn't really put much effort in this site simply because I didn't have much inspiration, but now that I have, I'm seriously going to plan out how the site is going to look like.

Afterwards, I may find more inspiration on the content portion of it too. What I mean to say is... more artwork...

My Neighborhood: A Photography Project

Starting sometime tomorrow or probably next week (from today's date) I will spend some time walking around my neighborhood, taking pictures. For some apparent reason I just feel like I need to somehow... "express" myself. While I'm currently working on my very first Wordpress template for my personal site/blog I thought that another way that I should express myself through sites is basically taking pictures of it.

Just a short little upcoming news that I thought of somewhat in the last minute. Besides, I really do need to get out of the house and get active one of these days, you know?

Once I get all these photographs finished I will be sure to post them up in the Photographics Gallery (under Portfolio > Photography or simply go directly here.

Navy Blue Background

Due to my "negative reviews" @ YoursiteNU, I decided to change the shade of the blue. I admit it looks a lot better with the navy blue than the blue that I used when I first launched this very simplistic layout and the text is a lot clearer and more legible to read.

Should I call this Bluedette ver. 2.1?

Official Opening - Version 2.0

After two long years of this portfolio being idle, I finally updated... majorly.

There's still a lot of stuff that I want to add as inspiration in creativity just simply started brimming within me. And thanks to this super-cool FanUpdate, I can seriously write some updates and random commentary when I can.

Once again, the layout is blue. I love blue, as you can see already. Even my current personal site is blue. I really can't see myself with pinky-pastel color-themed layout for some reason. One day, I'll do better, but for now, this simple-looking design would do for now.

And finally, I can go to bed.

New Layout and FanUpdate Installed

After a week of contemplating and brainstorming to see how my new layout would look like for this portfolio I finally decided to go to the more “simple-looking” design. It seems everyone in the web designing scene have opted for the lesser-graphic, cleaner-looking designs as of late and that the prior feature that every single website should have is the amount of content housed in that site. It's not about the quantity of the content, but also on the quality as well.

I have been thinking and contemplating and such as to how I can make my portfolio look a lot more attractive and with a lot of meat in it. It's not exactly the easiest thing to come up with, especially if you want to stand out from the rest. I did not want to have a portfolio that's “typical”, although in some ways I still live in the “old school of web design” where both content and aesthetic look still counts.

I admit, I haven't been very attentive to this portfolio site for two years now as my full-time job seriously occupied most of my time. But now that I am (once again) laid off from my job and currently scourging around job search sites, I finally found time and inspiration to redo this entire portfolio, weeding out the good and the bad, that sort of thing.

I also installed FanUpdate as my news and updates generator. I'm not going to add a blog in here and what not as I already have a Wordpress-powered blog in my personal site. Of course, I still gotta beef up my personal site too as I am seriously growing tired and weary of modifying pre-made templates. I don't feel original doing something like that. The only problem I'm facing right now is the fact that I'm still confused with the Wordpress templating system. Maybe I should just stick to FanUpdate, but I still have lots more content to put up in that personal site. Time is yet another issue why I haven't had the time to actually complete the meats of that site. Oh well, I'll triumph with the templating system one day.

So, here's my official update entry for Version 2 of Bluedette. Besides, I need to post something up in order to do the initial testing before I launch it up in public.
