skills
This section pretty much summarizes my general skills (both personal and technical) that I believe would be essential skills needed to apply for any office-setting (or studio setting?) job. In addition to skills are some of the "plus" experiences that I had from my current job and other extracurricular activities.
Everyday I learn something new, so therefore, these measurements will eventually change from time to time...
personal skills
+ ability to work well with others in a team setting as well as other co-workers outside the team.
+ open and adaptive to changes, regardless if that change may affect me or not.
+ open and approachable to different ideas
+ taking responsibility for success of myself and others
+ taking initiatives
+ open to communication regardless of how busy I may be...
+ presentation skills
(there's a lot more, but this is all I could think of so far...)
technical skills (hi-level expertise)
[PERSONAL COMPUTERS]
+
Apple Macintosh: When I was first introduced to computers at age 12 at my keyboarding class, we used those "old school" Apple computers (I can't remember the model, but I was sure it was not a Mac). Throughout my young school days we used no other types of computers than Apple computers (eventually in high school we started using Macs). I had to type up my reports and do interactive presentations using the Mac, so I was able to take a grasp on learning the Hypercard system and their windows systems. Even when I reached college when I took basic multimedia/graphic design classes, we all used Macs. But regardless that I've used Macs throughout my educational days...
+
PC Compatibles: When my dad was able to afford our very first computer at home, it was a PC-compatible computer. It was independently assembled for him by a local computer shop, so therefore there's no specific label as to what brand of computer that was (not like today when there's HP, Dell, Gateway, eMachines, etc.). I spent learning my way through the computer through a PC including the "old school" Windows 3.0 and the "old school" DOS system. I was quite sad though when I discovered on my own that PC-based files and Mac-based files are not compatible to each other. Not just that, the floppy disks aren't even compatible to each other either. I figured that I would not be able to do my homework at home if Macs can't accept PC-based files, so I spent my school days staying after school just to use the school Macs and get my homeworks started. However, I've spent a lot more time using the house's PC than the Mac outside home that I gained a higher expertise level on using PCs than with Macs. Eventually as desktop PCs got cheaper, now the household has 3 PCs and 2 laptops (for my sister and my dad). Even at my current workplace now, I work with a PC.
